I recalled this following a Zhodani Base post on Facebook. This sure does bring back fond memories!

HAH! I just found these old AutoCAD files, but now I don't have AutoCAD anymore! :(

I am still digging around for the PDF files - it worked really well 4 Sectors cover all of the Imperium. Each Sector in the Real OTU became a subsector. Obviously the UWPs might have to be changed otherwise all you have are habitable planets...

Aren't there non-habitable worlds used in the adventures as well?

Sure, but the vast majority are on worlds with breathable atmospheres.

Heh, this ends up with the "Star Wars/Star Trek/Firefly Effect" where most plots take place on habitable or semi-habitable worlds :-)

Two quick points.

1. Did you ever get your AutoCAD files converted to PDF?
(I can if you still need it.)

2. Stop thinking in terms of 1 world per system. Compress 2 or 3 worlds into the same system with the “breathable” world in the optimal orbit and the rock ball and Hell worlds in the adjacent orbits (or those exotic atmospheres on the moons of Gas Giants). This creates more meaningful systems FULL of opportunities.

1. Yes, I got them, Thanks

2. I could do that, but often the OTU has such crap data on most of the worlds, it isn't viable - AND it would be really time consuming. HOWEVER, it could easily be done if you came up with an process that took a specific number of hexes and compressed all the world data into one system - so you could get 1 world or several worlds. As I remember, it took about a 6-hex compression (2x3 as I vaguely remember), so you could just compress any worlds listed in those hexes into a single system/hex in the new map.

I keep thinking this thread is about actually Collapsing the OTU (as in, take it through the TNE/1248 Collapse process :) ).

That, or Grandfather finally figured out how to fold the OTU enough times that it fits into a coat pocket...

... the Origami Traveller Universe?
